Pixel, DPI & Print Size Calculator

Use two known image or print measurements to find the third: pixels, physical size or pixel density.

Pixel count1,181 px
Physical size10 cm / 3.94 in
DPI / PPI300

Formula: pixels = physical size in inches x DPI. DPI/PPI expresses density; it does not change the pixels already contained in a digital image.

How are pixels and print size related?

Physical size in inches multiplied by DPI gives the pixel count along one dimension. The calculation can use centimetres or inches for the physical measurement.

What does DPI not determine?

DPI/PPI describes density at a stated physical size. It does not improve image detail, color quality, crop composition or printer capability.
